I was hoping to go for a bike ride today while Felicity was at the university, but when I checked the weather forecast it showed there was a band of heavy rain due to arrive around mid-day. The possibility of ending up miles from civilisation wet and cold didn’t seem attractive, so I reluctantly decided to give it a miss. I didn’t want to spend the whole day indoors though, so I set out for a run soon after breakfast.

Saul’s Naming Day in Noosa

Long Bay development
I went down to the beach for a run this afternoon, and stopped for a look at the new sub-division. The developers have obviously spent a lot of money on planting up the stormwater ponds.
Power to the people
On my run this afternoon I passed through the old Clemows orchard, down near Rosedale Rd. On the public reserve between the houses and the creek, there are dozens of old apple trees, where those in the know can get free fruit in season.
Why can’t we use the Parnell tunnel
Running through the Auckland domain today, I watched a train going into the tunnel at Parnell. Just to the left of the main portal is a smaller tunnel which has been blocked up with concrete blocks.
Unsworth Cycleway
Leaving my car parked at the Warehouse, I headed off on foot up the Albany highway and down Bush road to Rosedale Park. On the far side of the park is the start of the cycle way.
