We discovered where the masses go to paddle their kayaks when we took a trip upriver from Wenderholm.
It is a very pretty river, so I can understand why it is so popular. Once we passed the pub the traffic died down, and we continued on until the way was blocked. The two tourists there soon left, so we sat on the bank and ate lunch in peace.
The trip back was into the wind, and we were glad we had rudders. I strongly expect that many of the rental kayak clients were struggling to get back.
Hey have you tried a deploying a golf umbrella for the down wind legs? –
Yep, did so very effectively in the Sea Bear while on the Able Tasman. We came hurtling around the corner of a bay in view of people on the beach, and overtook a couple of single kayaks being paddled!
