I started this morning’s ride at Spa Park in Taupo, and headed down the right bank of the Waikato on the Rotary Ride.
I had hoped for a leisurely cruise along a mostly flat path, and about 60% of the time that’s what I got. The rest wound down and up gullies, at one point going twice behind one huge fallen tree, at different heights.
I crossed the river at Aratiatia, and rode back along the left bank towards town. I repeated a short section of yesterday’s ride: along the road and down Totara Gully again.
This time I turned right at the bottom, and came to Hot Water Beach, where I ate my lunch. Then on to Huka falls and across to complete the Rotary Ride.
I don’t plan to ride tomorrow; my legs need a rest!
