Hoping that the trail would be reasonably dry, Kerry and I headed to the top of the hill behind North Orewa where a steep grass track leads down the hill.
I haven’t mentioned this network before, thinking that it might be on private land, but I’ve seen it listed on the Tracks website recently, so perhaps the block is council-owned. A huge amount of work has gone into building bridges, and installing carpet to provide traction on steep slopes. There has not been much maintenance recently though.
It was a bit muddy in places, but a lot of fun.
