We went to church this afternoon. Spent two rather uncomfortable but rewarding hours on the pews of St Michaels Catholic church in Remuera.
No, I haven’t suddenly converted to Christianity; we went to hear the Viva Voce choir performing a selection of hymns and devotional songs.
The singing was wonderful as usual, and the setting very appropriate. The building has some beautiful stained-glass windows with inspiring themes.
We got to join the choir at the end singing “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, which I enjoyed.
